    noxplode

For over a year now, I've been taking a weight training supplement called N.O. Xplode. I can definitely tell a difference when I work out; I have more energy and can lift heavier weights. The problem is that most supplements, including N.O. Xplode have not been FDA approved, so there's a chance I'm hurting myself more in the long run. Whenever I take it, I pretty much have to work out, because I have so much pent-up energy, and I can feel my blood pumping.

There have been some side effects. One is the occasional severe headache. The drink contains a lot of caffeine, and I'm just assuming my body is suffering from withdrawal, because I only get them on days I don't work out. Also, as soon as I take it, it's like an instant laxative, which in a way is nice, because it cleans my system out before I work out.

Do you take any supplements like this? Some people I know drink coffee or an energy drink before going to the gym. I feel like I've become too reliant on this stuff, which is $60 a bottle and could be causing damage to my heart and liver.

But at least I have biceps!

I have that I have played a ton of sports. Basketball, softball, kickboxing, Motocross, and the list continues. But I have to say, I never took any supplements. However, I have nothing against people who take them. Several people I know take them, it's just not for me. :)

My mum forced me to take some weightloss things, I blame them for every aweful stomach ache I get. Never will I ever do such thing again. She can call me fat all she wants.

I always trust things that have explode in the title.  Sounds like a win-win all around.  You get the body of a demi-god and someone somewhere is going to make a fortune when said body slowly but surely shuts down.

    The biceps are nice.

there are good workout supplements that aren't harmful. do a little research and get some good stuff that has vitamins to boost energy instead of caffeine. there are natural methods.

i usually drink coffee before my workouts too, but the stuff you are taking is probably much higher than one cup of coffee

My boyfriend uses the same stuff... as long as it's not illegal, I don't care.

A buddy of mine who used to take questionable supplements used to say, nobody sees your internal organs, but everyone sees your biceps.

Are you able to sleep if you don't work out? I'm asking this because I'm oversensitive to caffeine and in the days I don't work out, I usually have insomnia, because I feel that I didn't waste the energy that I should have. And I don't take any supplements...

I just want to say the title also scares me a little. And by the way, who says you wouldn't have biceps if you didn't take the pills? It would be probably harder to get there, but hey... I guess you should weigh the good results and the bad side effects and decide from there.

    I hope you don't explode, though! ;p

I don't use anything,  but I do workout a lot,  ie running,  lifting weights,  pushups,  etc.

Make sure to get a good video of the explosion,  okay?

I don't take anything. Used to supplement with whey protein powder, but I can't digest the stuff--gives me runs for days. (TMI, eh?) Now I stick to natural food. I make homemade gainer shakes of raw eggs (just one yolk), raw baby oats, natural peanut butter, milled flaxseed, and milk. Shake it up in a bottle and it's good to go. Been thinking about trying creatine, though.

i don't take anything for my workouts. I usually do 40-45 min of cardio 3-4 times a week. i don't have a "rockin body" but I'm not fat either.

my boyfriend, however, takes creatine, and is obsessed with protein (especially in the powder form... or food form!) - and he, i must say, has a "rockin body"

I am taking GNC Products, some featured in Women's Health magazine or even the Men's Health Mag too...so far, im indulging in Hydroxicut, Vit C Pills, Primrose Oil stuffs..initially i ate Burn 60 tablets, which the salesperson advised me that it contains lighter amount of caffaine, thus it wont likely give me terrible side effects...but to my disbelief, the side effect came...my trembling hands....gastric flu... etc...i had it changed to Hydroxicut...it's better indeed...and it helps...to burn down more fats, calories etc...

do take care of yourself even if it means eating these stuffs, in the long run, we never want to see our organs crying out loud for help due to the supplements we consumed...eat more fruits yea? =)

@yello_lego@xanga - Those protein shakes gave me the runs, too. Plus, they are SO damn expensive. I was like, "So, I'm paying $45 to constantly have diarrhea?"

  • yello_lego@xanga

@sam - Good to know I'm not the only one. Eating clean, healthy food is the best, if you can do it.
